Mashrafe’s bracelet sold for Tk 42 lakh; but set to get back it as gift



Former Bangladesh cricket team Captain Masrhafe Bin Mortaza is set to get back his bracelet, which he has been wearing for 18 years and sold for Tk 42 lakh in auction to collect fund to provide financial assistance to people badly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, as gift from the bidder.
Bangladesh Leasing and Finance Companies Association (BLFCA) bought the bracelet in the auction which ran till early Monday.
However, BLFCA Chairman Mominul Islam said during the auction that they want to return the bracelet to Mashrafe as it suits him best.
He said they will arrange a programme to hand over the bracelet to the icon cricketer once the situation gets normal.
In his early days of international career, Mashrafe used to wear a red and green bracelet. Later, he had a new silver bracelet made, which he has been wearing for the 18 years. 
Earlier, Shakib Al Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim put their bats while some other cricketers their valuables items on auction to raise funds for the coronavirus victims.
Bangladesh reported 22,268 coronavirus cases and 328 deaths from the virus as of Sunday.
